USGS Publication: Peat Database
Two EXCEL files contain provisional U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data on peat and related plant/sediment/water chemistry. Samples are largely from the U.S., but samples were also collected in other countries. PEATDATA.xlsx covers mostly the United States and a few samples from six other countries. CLICK the Data Tab.

USGS Scientist Susan Hall was elected chair of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – Nuclear Energy Agency/International Atomic Energy Agency’s Uranium Group during their 48th meeting in Kirovograd, Ukraine, which was held August 21-24, 2012.

The Organic Petrology Laboratory (OPL) of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Eastern Energy Resources Science Center in Reston, Virginia, contains several thousand processed coal sample materials that were loosely organized in laboratory drawers for the past several decades.

USGS Publication: Fact Sheet 2012–3107
Using a geology-based assessment methodology, the USGS estimated mean volumes of 2.3 billion barrels of oil, 79.6 trillion cubic feet of gas, and 2.1 billion barrels of natural gas liquids in the Irrawaddy‒Andaman and Indo-Burman Geologic Provinces of Myanmar.
